PALS: A Pawsitive Presence in Trinidad, Southern Colorado!
In the heart of Trinidad, Colorado, at 131 East Main Street, there’s a special place where furry friends and their human companions are celebrated: PALS (Pets Assistance League Store). This vibrant 501(c)(3) charitable organization is on a mission to make Southern Colorado a better place for pets and the people who love them. With a joyful spirit and a caring heart, PALS is redefining what it means to be a community hub for animal lovers!
It’s important to note that PALS is not a shelter, not a re-homing service, or an adoption facility.
Our focus is on providing essential services and products to pet owners while fostering a supportive community.
PALS is funded primarily through its thrift store, where every purchase made is a step toward helping pets get the help they or their owners need. When you shop at PALS, you’re not just getting great deals; you’re also supporting low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics that make responsible pet ownership accessible to everyone. It’s a win-win situation that leaves both pets and their humans feeling good!
But wait, there’s more! PALS isn’t just about supplies and services; it’s also about community connection. With exciting special events, educational outreach, and fun initiatives like the reading program, PALS fosters a warm and welcoming environment.
Additionally, while we do have pet supplies, our inventory includes a wide range of products beyond that. From clothing and home goods to hardware and furniture, PALS offers something for everyone in the community.
We are also excited to announce that a microchip program is coming soon! This initiative will provide pet owners with the opportunity to ensure their furry friends are easily identifiable and can be reunited with their families if they ever get lost.
And let’s not forget about our heartwarming emergency pet food pantry! PALS understands that sometimes life throws curveballs, and not every family can afford pet food. That’s why we’ve created a caring safety net for pet owners in need. With a free food table and an emergency pantry, no pet in the community has to go hungry. It’s all about keeping families together and ensuring that every furry friend is well-fed and loved.
Kristine Munson, one of the 10 passionate founders of PALS, emphasizes that their success is a community effort. “We couldn’t do this without our community; it’s everyone’s success!” she says with a smile. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and it’s clear that PALS is not just a store, but a community-driven initiative that brings people together for a common cause: the love of animals.
So, if you’re in Trinidad or nearby, swing by PALS and see for yourself the magic happening within those walls. Whether you’re looking for pet supplies, something for your home or something to wear, or seeking low-cost veterinary services, or simply wanting to connect with fellow animal lovers, PALS is the place to be. Join the fun, support a great cause, and help make Southern Colorado a haven for pets and their people. After all, at PALS, every wagging tail and gentle purr tells a story of love, compassion, and community spirit!
