As we embrace the beauty of fall, we reflect on the incredible journey of Mt. San Rafael Hospital in Trinidad, Colorado. This year, the hospital has earned remarkable accolades, including recognition as one of the TOP 5 Rural Hospitals and TOP 10 Rural Healthcare Facilities in Colorado, as well as a TOP 20 Critical Access Hospital in the nation. These honors highlight its unwavering commitment to quality and innovation in healthcare for the Trinidad community.
Under the leadership of CEO Kim Lucero, Mt. San Rafael Hospital has implemented important changes, including a new opioid policy focused on safe pain management and the transition of chronic pain patients to specialists. These proactive measures ensure that our community receives the highest standard of care. Additional programs are in effect locally for opioid care. I am working on an updated list for our community and I will post those updates soon.
Recent facility upgrades to the hospital have improved accessibility and safety, making it easier for patients to receive the care they need.
